Coffee Roasting Tip # 2 – Recommended Reading about Green Coffee Beans and Roasting!

The first book I read on coffee was published in 1976. I was a coffee lover but had never considered pursuing a better cup by roasting my own green beans. The book is: COFFEE, A Guide to Buying, Brewing, and Enjoying. It has been updated a few times and the latest version is copyright 2001. Kenneth David is the ‘guru’ of homeroasting and is well respected in the specialty coffee world. You can get this book at Amazon.

David’s covers:

  • How it started
  • Buying it
  • Tasting it
  • Roasting it
  • Grinding it
  • Brewing it
  • Espresso
  • Serving it
  • Caffiene
  • Growing it
  • Coffee Houses
  • Coffee Drinks

He also includes a glossary of coffee terms, and a list of resources.

The coffee drinks section is why I borrowed the book in the first place…to find a good coffee liqueur recipe…and i got sucked into the simplicity of roasting my own.
